Officials said on Friday that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will present Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a vision document for Ayodhya’s development during a virtual meeting on Saturday, during which construction work on the Ram temple will also be discussed.
With the help of the Ayodhya Development Authority, LEA Associates South Asia Private Limited drafted the vision document (ADA). The state government hired LEA Associates, an international consultant, to prepare Ayodhya’s vision document for the temple town’s overall development.
According to Deepak Kumar, chairman of the Uttar Pradesh government’s Housing and Development Board, Larsen and Toubro and Kukreja Architects are assisting the international consultant in completing the project.
The document was finalised after several rounds of meetings between the development authority and the consultant, according to ADA officials. Before finalising the plan, the consultant sought input from 5,000 locals, Ayodhya saints, and prominent citizens.
The development plan includes 18 major projects. A detailed project report for 16 of these projects will be completed by August of this year. The vision document also calls for the creation of jobs, the branding of local products, religious tourism promotion, and the planting of Ramayan-era trees in Ayodhya.
The chief minister is also expected to inform Modi about a proposed new township to help relieve congestion in Ayodhya. A provision of Rs. 300 crore has also been made for the construction of an approach road to the Ayodhya temple of Ram Janmabhoomi. Ayodhya has also been allocated a sum of Rs. 100 crore for the development and beautification of tourism facilities.
The chairman of the Ram temple construction committee, Nripendra Misra, is also expected to attend this virtual meeting. On August 5, last year, Prime Minister Modi presided over the bhoomi pujan of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
The Ayodhya main road, the road leading to the Ram temple, Panchkoshi parikrama, Ayodhya green field township, gates at all city entry points, resthouses for devotees at entry points, Shri Ram International Airport, tourist centre, international museum, Saryu riverfront, renovation of five water bodies, an integrated traffic management system, and other key elements of the development plan will be covered.
