Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the memorial and temple of Saint Shiromani Ravidas ji, to be built on 11 acres of land in Badtuma, Sagar worth approximately Rs 100 crores, amidst Vedic chants. He also unveiled the rock-plaque and inspected the replica of the temple.

Prior to Bhumi-Pujan, Prime Minister Modi greeted saints and seers of different sects. Simultaneously, the Samarusta Yatra started from five places of the state also culminated today.

Governor ManguBhai Patel, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Social Justice Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar Khateek were specially present on this occasion.

It is worth mentioning that in the month of February, Chief Minister Chouhan announced the construction of a magnificent and divine memorial and temple for the pioneer of Samrasta (harmony), Saint Ravidas ji. After the laying of foundation stone by the Prime Minister today, a grand and divine temple will now be constructed here. This temple will be built in Naagar style on 10000 square feet. An Interpretation Museum will also be built here. Along with culture and creativity, a museum will also be constructed to exhibit the works and personality of Saint Ravidas. Four galleries will be set-up in the museum, in which the path of devotion, contribution to the Nirgun cult, philosophy of the Saint and his literature, details of Samrasta will be provided. Apart from the library, Sangat Hall, Jal Kund, Bhakt Niwas will also be built, which will be equipped with spiritual and modern facilities. Devotees and scholars of Saint Ravidas from India and abroad will come to Bhakt Niwas, who will be inspired from the life of the Saint. An eatery will be constructed on 15,000 square feet. The temple will have two grand entrances, CCTV cameras and lighting arrangements.

According to Vastu and lay-out, the temple of Saint Ravidas will also be a spiritual art museum, which will be an unparalleled place of reverence, faith and devotion. Philosophers and scholars and inquisitors will also come from India and abroad. The work, personality and philosophy of Saint Ravidas will be inspirational for the whole world.
