The Madhya Pradesh government has granted approval for a proposed Road Transport Credit (RTC) model for providing public transport service in rural areas of the state.
The decision was taken in the state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday at Bhopal.
The approval has been given to implement the model as a pilot project in Vidisha district for 6 months from May 1, 2022.
Also the cabinet took a decision to relax the related provisions in Acts and Rules for the vehicles to be operated under the model.
While providing relaxation in sub-rule (3) of rule 116A of Madhya Pradesh Motor Vehicles Rules, 1994, it includes operation of vehicles of 7+1 to 20+1 seating capacity on rural roads.
The total exemption on the monthly motor vehicle tax payable under Madhya Pradesh Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1991 on vehicles operated for rural transport service.
And the incentive amount as determined by the value of the incentive amount to be supplied to the vehicle operator in the next half year against the Rural Transport Credit (RTC) earned by the operators of vehicles operated continuously for 6 months as rural transport service.
The state transport department will take necessary action to execute the scheme.
The state cabinet granted approval for Semaria Micro Irrigation Project estimated cost of Rs 158 crore 6 lakh, with an irrigation potential of 9000 hectares in Rewa district.
With the construction of this project, underground pressurized pipe distribution system irrigation facility will be available in 9 thousand hectare area of 86 villages of Semaria tehsil.
The state cabinet granted approval for Samakota barrage estimated cost Rs. 188.42 crore have irrigation potential of 6000 hectares during rabi irrigation.
From this project, 15 villages of Mahidpur tehsil of Ujjain district is going to get irrigation benefit through underground pipeline through micro irrigation pressure (sprinkler) method.
The state cabinet approved the implementation of emergency/temporary arrangements to ensure the availability of sand in the state.
In such districts sand mines where the contracts have been surrendered/cancelled in the Sand Rules 2019, will be disposed by the Collector by forming small groups from a 10-day e-auction.
If the process of e-auction is unsuccessful for the first time, a notice of 5 days will be issued for a second e-auction.
The District Collector will be able to conduct e-auction by forming small groups based on the geographical location and revenue limit of the district.
Preference will be given to such mines for e-auction, which have statutory approvals like Mining Plan/EC/CTO.
The initial price of the e-auction will be kept at the prevailing rate (per cubic meter) of the tender of the canceled/dedicated contract of the concerned district. This auction will be done for 3 months or for contract execution by the new contractor of the group, whichever is earlier. Apart from this, other technical improvements have also been made to implement emergency/temporary arrangements to ensure the availability of sand.
