Patna High Court today reprimanded the state government for failing to deal with the continuously increasing number of corona infections, stating that the condition was not ashamed despite repeated court orders. It is a matter of shame in Bihar, and in this situation, the responsibility for Covid-19 management in the state should be handed over to the Army.
The bench of Patna High Court Judges Chakradhari Sharan Singh and Justice Mohit Kumar Shah, hearing the PILs filed on the Corona case, expressed displeasure over the arrangements made for the control of the corona, saying that “In our opinion, if you are struggling, then why not delegate Covid management to the army?.”
Advocate Lalit Kishore by objecting to this comment of the bench said that The government is dealing with this pandemic at the battle level. Every day and every week, the government is raising oxygen and beds for the patients suffering from Covid. By comparing the number of corona infections and deaths in Bihar with the number of corona infections and deaths in Maharashtra and Kerala, he said that despite more resources in both the states, more deaths have occurred there than in Bihar.
Maharashtra is still on rank one for the number of corona infections, with 4.77 M cases and 70,851 deaths till the last two days, while in Kerala the number of Corona cases is 1.66 M and the number of deaths caused is 5,450. On the other hand, Bihar is having a 509K number of corona cases and 2,821 deaths.
In the light of the surge in the coronavirus cases in the state, the Bihar government has imposed lockdown in the state till May 15. Some essential services are exempted from the lockdown: District administrative services, police, civil defense, sanitation, fire brigade, water supply, health services.
