Delhi. Amongst the protests in many states of the country today, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Padmavat is being screened in cinemas. Although earlier, there were violent demonstrations in towns and cities of many states including Rajasthan, Haryana, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. Rajput society still is firmly opposing the film. At the same time, Multiplex Association of India, representing about 75 percent of multiplex owners on Padmavat, said that the film will not be displayed in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Goa.
Let us tell you that the government had directed the state governments to provide security while rejecting the petition. The court had said that when the censor board cleared the film, why demand for a stop? But despite getting the green signal from the Supreme Court, violent protests are being performed across the country and national highways are being jammed instead. Seeing the continuous opposition to the film, its name was changed from ‘Padmavati’ to ‘Padmavat’. Apart from this, a lot of changes were made. Despite this, its opposition to the Rajput society is not decreasing.
