Family members of Hiralal Yadav, the 90-year-old vocal-artist from Varanasi, is excited and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi as soon as his name surfaced in the list of Padma Awards recipient list.
Union Ministry of Home Affairs had announced the names of the 112 recipients of Padma Awards on Friday. It is one the highest civilian awards of the country and the announcement takes place annually on the eve of Republic day.
PM Modi has given due recognition to the talent and work of Varanasi based vocal-artist, Hiralal Yadav. This is how his elder son, Ramji Yadav reacted to the news, “No government did what Prime Minister Narendra Modi government has done. He has recognised the talent and work of my father which none of the other governments did.”
This year’s awardees comprise four (4) Padma Vibhushan, fourteen (14) Padma Bhushan and ninety-four (94) Padma Shri awardees.
