Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan has said that voter information slips have been distributed to the voters in the 6 Lok Sabha parliamentary constituencies where voting is to be held in the second phase on 26 April 2024. The voter slip has a QR code also.
In the second phase, voting will be held in six Lok Sabha parliamentary constituencies including Tikamgarh (SC), Damoh, Khajuraho, Satna, Rewa and Hoshangabad on April 26.
There are total 1 crore 11 lakh 62 thousand 460 voters here. Of these, voter information slips containing QR codes have been distributed to 1 crore 10 lakh 39 thousand 752 voters.
Rajan said that voter information slips with QR code are being distributed to all the voters of the state.
The Voter Information Slip with QR code will provide the voters important information like name, address, number, location, voter helpline number of their polling station of the state and district.
Meanwhile, Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan has instructed the Collector and District Election Officers to make serious efforts to increase the voting percentage in the second, third and fourth phase of Lok Sabha Elections-2024.
He reviewed the voting in the first phase in a discussion with the District Election Officers of the Lok Sabha constituencies.
Expressing his unhappiness over low voting, he said that the collectors themselves should take the lead to increase the voting percentage in the next phases.
The office of the Chief Electoral Officer is always ready to provide full assistance to the collectors.
Rajan reviewed all parliamentary constituency-wise election preparations through video conferencing.
Deliver voter information slips from door-to-door
Rajan said that collectors should ensure that voter information slips reach the homes of all voters.
The information on the distribution given by the BLO should also be verified.
While giving the voter information slip, voters must be told to carry their voter slip while going to vote along with their photo ID card or any other 12 alternative photo bearing documents like Aadhaar card, PAN card, Unique ID card for persons with disabilities, driving license, MNREGA job card, pension document (with photograph), Passport, Passbook (issued by Bank/Post Office with photograph), Service Identity Card with photo (issued by Central/State Government/PSU/Public Limited Companies), Official Identity Card issued to MPs, MLAs and Legislative Council Members, Smart Card issued by RGI under NPR, Health Insurance Smart Card (issued by Ministry of Labour) Even if you do not receive the Voter Information Slip, you can cast your vote if your name is in the voter list.
You can get information about your name and polling station in the voter list from the BLO present at the polling station.
A day before voting, BLOs should go door to door to motivate voters to vote. Encourage BLOs who do good work by giving them certificates etc. Involve local social organizations also.
The district election officers gave information on the efforts and innovations being made by them to increase the voting percentage.
District Election Officer Indore said that coolers are being installed in the polling stations.
Rajan said that complete training should be given where more than one ballot unit is to be installed for is operation.
In polling stations where there are more voters, additional staff should be deployed so that long queues are not formed to vote.
Make essential medicines available at training sites and polling stations. Constantly monitor the webcasting of polling stations.
Instructions were given to completely follow all other parameters along with CCTV coverage in the strong room. Ensure uninterrupted power supply in the strong room.
Inspect warehouses and areas where materials are stored. Take strong action against bound overs. Upload good quality photographs on the day of voting.
Provide information about voting percentage every two hours through the Vote Percentage app.
