Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan has announced a number of stringent measure to ensure smooth and righteous functioning of RTO, and school buses.
All this is being done in light of an accident which involved a DPS school bus that lead to the death of four students.
CM on his visit to the aggrieved families, faced the fury of the parents who professed that there was absolute negligence of laws in the school bus functioning, and other vehicles which ferry kids to and fro.
In order to mollify the parents and the tense situation, CM immediately removed the Indore Regional Transport Officer, MP Singh for his insensitive behavior as per the reports. “Judicial probe has been ordered, and I have sought the report within 15 days”, said Mr. Chauhan.

The police have progressed in the case after arresting Chetan Kumawat, the transport officer of DPS, and Jalaj Meshram from the company that fitted the foul speed governor in the bus that wasn’t working properly.
The steering wheel had jammed, and the bus was close to 80 km speed at the time of the mishap. A student who used to take the same bus said that the driver had complained about the poor condition of the bus, but the school authorities did not pay heed, as per sources.

After announcing a series of rules and regulations, Chauhan said that strict actions will be taken against the lawlessness. Heath certificates to the vehicles and concerned organizations/ departments will be provided after thorough quality check.
Six students  who were injured in the crash are undergoing treatments; two of them have undergone surgeries. CM also said that all the possible help and assistance will be provided to the families of the ailing.
