Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that other children orphaned due to the death of their parents will also be included in the ambit of the pension scheme applicable to children orphaned due to the death of their parents during Covid infection.
On the initiative of Minister Gopal Bhargava, Chief Minister Chouhan described the marriage of 2,100 poor girls in Gadhakota of Sagar district under Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah-Nikah Yojana today as a Mahayagya of social harmony.
The Chief Minister participated in the 20th Punya Vivah ceremony of the scheme at Rahas Mela Ground, Garhakota in Sagar district.
Former Chief Minister Uma Bharti, Urban Development Minister Bhupendra Singh and Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Prabhuram Chaudhary also blessed the newly-wed couples.

Chouhan said that Minister Bhargava is not only a politician but also a social worker and a Vikas Purush.

The history of social service he created by getting 21 thousand girls married is exemplary. We all are proud of him.
Bhargava proved that politics is not a profession but a social service. The Chief Minister also described the wedding ceremony as a Mahakumbh of social service, in which more than one lakh people participated.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the aim of the central and state government is that all daughters should be happy. No parent should worry about their daughter’s marriage.
The state government has implemented the scheme for girls from birth to education and then later for marriage, he said.
Now the biggest scheme for the welfare of women ‘Ladli Behna’ has been started, through which an amount of Rs one thousand per month will be deposited in the bank account of all the eligible women, he said.
Bringing smile on the faces of daughters, sisters and women is the main goal of Madhya Pradesh government. Women will not have to wander here and there to join the Ladli Bahna Yojana,, applications will be taken by setting-up camps in the wards of villages and cities.
Chouhan blessed all the newly-weds who tied the knot in the marriage ceremony, wishing them a happy and successful life. Along with this, he also said that he too would stand with them along with Shri Gopal Bhargava in times of difficulty.
The Chief Minister and other guests greeted the newly-weds by showering flowers and gave them symbolic gifts. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also welcomed and congratulated Minister Shri Bhargava for the mass marriage Mahayagya.
Chouhan also announced the approval of degree college in Shahpur on the demand of Minister Gopal Bhargava.
Minister Gopal Bhargava told that he and Chief Minister Chouhan started the practice of arranging marriages of girls from poor families 20 years ago. He told that 20 years ago I had started it in a small way, which has now taken a grand form.
He said that not a single daughter of the state should be deprived of marriage due to financial constraints.
He told the newly-wed girls that Gopal Bhargava would be their Dharampita all his life. Now if any poor person of Madhya Pradesh wishes to get his daughter married, he would get it done.
Bhargava told that he got his son Abhishek Bhargava and daughter Dr. Avantika Bhargava married in a similar mass marriage ceremony, later he did not give reception in any big hotel or five star hotel.
He described the Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah Yojana as a scheme for public welfare and social harmony.
