One more four-year-old cheetah died in Kuno National Park (KNP) Sheopur in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday.

Principal Chief Conservator of Forests J.S. Chauhan has told that at 11 am on Tuesday morning at Palpur in Sheopur, injury marks were seen on the upper part of the neck of male cheetah ‘Tejas’.

The team informed the wildlife doctors present at the headquarters. Doctors examined Tejas on the spot and prima facie found the wounds serious, Chauhan said.

Chouhan told after obtaining permission to treat Tejas under sedation, a team of doctors left for the spot with preparations. The team of doctors found the male cheetah Tejas dead on the spot at around 2 pm. He said that the injuries sustained by Tejas are being probed. The cause of death will be known after the post mortem.

The male cheetah, Tejas, is one of those brought from South Africa to Madhya Pradesh, India in February this year.
