Worlds Largest Floating Solar Project Begins Full-Capacity Power Generation
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav extended his congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of the Omkareshwar Solar Floating Project beginning full-capacity operations during the auspicious festival of Diwali.
He expressed pride in the fact that the Omkareshwar Solar Floating Project stands as the largest of its kind, not only in India but worldwide.
Dr. Yadav noted that, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is consistently reaching new milestones in renewable energy.
He affirmed that Madhya Pradesh is dedicated to supporting the Prime Minister’s goal of expanding the nation’s renewable energy capacity to 500 gigawatts by 2030, working with full commitment toward this vision.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Omkareshwar Solar Floating Project has started generating electricity at full capacity of 278 Mega Watt in the first phase from Wednesday, October 30, 2024.
The launch of Omkareshwar Solar Floating Project built on the holy river Maa Narmada on the auspicious festival of Diwali is a matter of happiness and pride for the people of the state.
This is also an excellent opportunity for the government’s continuous efforts and resolution for energy self-reliance and green energy production of the state to be fulfilled.
Today, renewable energy projects of about 6,600 Mega Watt capacity have been established in the state.
Work is progressing on registered renewable energy projects of about 8,900 Mega Watt. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that we are also moving towards Prime Minister Shri Modi’s goal of meeting 50 percent of energy needs from renewable energy.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that continuous efforts are being made to promote renewable energy in the state.
He said that Prime Minister Modi has put forth the basic mantra to deal with the challenges of climate change in the form of Panchamrit on the world stage.
We will leave no stone unturned in achieving the target given by the Prime Minister in the field of renewable energy.
We will work with full commitment, so that the state can become a role model in the field of renewable energy not only in the country but also in the world.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that we will continue to work to keep the state a “bright state” and “Golden state” by adopting such innovations in the future too.
New and Renewable Energy Minister Rakesh Shukla has congratulated the people of the state for the achievement of starting power generation with full capacity in the first phase of Omkareshwar Solar Project.
He has assured that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, we will continue to work with full commitment to boost our capacity in this field.
