The BJP issued its election manifesto for the forthcoming Assembly elections in Assam on Tuesday. J P Nadda, the party’s president, presented the paper to Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, and state Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at a ceremony in Guwahati.
As part of the party’s goal for inclusive growth, Nadda said the manifesto initiatives would improve connectivity, infrastructure, education, health, and women empowerment.
One of the BJP’s assurances was to focus on “corrected National Register of Citizens (NRC).” “We will work on a corrected NRC for Assam’s protection,” Nadda said. To keep the Ahom civilization secure, we will protect legitimate Indian people and detect infiltrators.”
On March 27, April 1, and April 6, Assam heads to the polls in three phases.
The BJP has also pledged to expedite the delimitation process in Assam in order to secure the Assamese people’s political rights. According to a directive from the Centre, the procedure of setting or redrawing the borders of parliamentary and legislative districts has been halted in Assam.
The BJP has vowed that Assam will become self-sufficient in food production. “We pledge to make Assam the fastest-growing state in the country in terms of job creation. In the next five years, our administration will build 200,000 government jobs, with the first 100,000 not available until March 31, 2022. In addition, we will generate 800,000 jobs in the private sector,” Nadda said.
As part of the Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Yojana, the BJP has promised to build 200,000 entrepreneurs annually and one million in the next five years by providing technical assistance and financing. Nearly 150,000 young people have earned 50,000 in seed funding as part of the program.
“Assam was full of problems five years ago, but our government has been able to address some of them by providing inclusive development. We have gained momentum and are now ready to take a big leap in the coming years. Besides, the 10 commitments, we will work on improving connectivity, health, education, women empowerment, etc, and take Assam to newer heights,” said Nadda.
