Nine people lost their lives as Lightning Strike engulfed several people in the Dewas Agar Malwa district of Madhya Pradesh due to heavy rains. According to reports, six persons died in Dewas and three in Agar Malwa.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and former Congress state president Arun Yadav have expressed grief over the incident. According to official information, six people died in lightning in Tonkkhurd, Khal, Gagankheda and Bamnivriddhi in the Dewas district last Monday.
Collector Chandramouli Shukla has immediately sanctioned financial assistance of Rs.4 lakh each to the family members on loss of life under Madhya Pradesh Government Revenue Department (Relief Branch) Revenue Book Circular 6.4.
With this, Bamini elderly resident Deepa, Savitri have been referred to Indore for treatment. According to reports, action is being taken as per rules in case of animal loss. Similarly, three people have died due to lightning in Agar-Malwa.
There have reportedly been incidents of lightning at Manasa, Pilwas Lasuldia Kelwa in the district. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has expressed grief over the death of civilians due to lightning in the Dewas and Agar Malwa districts and directed the district administration of both the districts to help the affected families.
On the other hand, former Congress State President Arun Yadav expressed grief over the accidents and wished peace to the departed souls and the recovery of three seriously injured people.
