The Punjab government declared on Wednesday that it would introduce a night curfew from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. across the entire state until April 30 due to an increase in COVID-19 incidents.
Until further notice, the Captain Amarinder Singh-led Congress government has also outlawed political gathering throughout the province.

The situation will be checked again on April 8, and if the COVID-19 spread persists unabated, a decision on further restrictions will be made, he told reporters.
He also emphasized the importance of vigorous vaccination, especially in high-case areas and cities with more than 300 cases.
To combat the transmission of the COVID-19 virus, some states have implemented prohibitions such as lockout, weekend lockdown, and night curfews.
