Students can now write in Odia and 12 other languages for the first time in the history of the NEET. The Ministry of Education has approved a total of 13 languages in which the exam will be administered.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on the microblogging site Twitter, “NEET(UG) 2021 would be held in 13 languages for the first time, with Punjabi and Malayalam being included as new languages.
Hindi, Punjabi, Assamese, Bengali, Odia, Gujarati, Marathi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Urdu, and English are now accessible.”
Pradhan said that the registration procedure started at 5 p.m. on Tuesday on the website http://ntaneet.nic.in.
Another first has been the setup of a NEET examination center in Kuwait. It will serve the Indian student community in the Middle East.
“This is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s objective of regional language promotion under NEP 2020,” he added. The NEET(UG) 2021 will be conducted for the first time in 13 languages with the addition of Punjabi and Malayalam,” Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated on Twitter.
Hindi, Punjabi, Assamese, Bengali, Odia, Gujarati, Marathi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, and Urdu are the languages in which students can appear NEET.
The NEET (UG) 2021 will be conducted across the country on September 12th, 2021, with COVID19 guidelines. The number of cities where the examination will be conducted has been increased from 155 to 198 to ensure social distancing norms. In addition, the number of examination centers will be increased from the 3862 used in 2020.
