On Tuesday, three District Reserve Guard (DRG) jawans and one police officer were killed in an IED blast set off by Naxals in the Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh. According to IG Bastar P Sundarraj, 14 security personnel were wounded, two of whom were critically injured.
The ITBP said an IED attack on a bus carrying 27 DRG workers occurred between Kadenar and Kanhargaon in Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh.
The wounded are being evacuated by members of the 45th Battalion ITBP. A search has been launched and the whole area has been cordoned off.
On Monday, five Naxals were apprehended in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh.
Five Naxals were apprehended on Monday in two locations in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district, one of whom was reportedly involved in the killing of four police officers after kidnapping them in 2015.
Four ultras were apprehended near NH-63 in the Nelasnar police station area, one of whom was a woman. According to PTI, another cadre was apprehended near Chinger village, within the Kutru police station’s jurisdiction.
On Sunday, different District Force and DRG teams were engaged in these activities to apprehend Naxals.
The ultras arrested from Nelasnar were Moturam Atami (25), Shankar Istami (22), Aayturam Kovasi (22) and Tulsi Poyami (19). IEDs and explosive materials were also found in their possession, according to police.
Badru Miccha (30), a suspect in the kidnapping and murder of four assistant constables in July 2015, was also apprehended.
