The Delhi Police has set up a digital data bank of plasma donors to encourage plasma therapy in an attempt to link donors and vulnerable recipients after proper authentication, in the wake of the disastrous second COVID-19 wave.

An online Google form called ‘Jeevan Rakshak’ has been created for this reason. People in need of plasma can fill out requisition forms, which can be found on the Delhi Police’s official website.

The prospective donor will be expected to provide information such as their name, age, gender, marital status, co-morbidities, contacts, location, blood group, date of recovery from COVID-19, and social media accounts, as well as their approval, according to a statement.

Those requesting plasma will be led to a form that includes fields such as the patient’s name, age, gender, mobile phone number, caretaker’s name, hospital name, patient ID, hospital location, blood group, and doctor’s prescription.

The Delhi Police will keep track of the information in a central location.

A dedicated team will be assigned to review the requests for Plasma recipients and to determine the availability of an appropriate donor, with information about the recipient and donor shared among them.
