Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Madhya Pradesh has received the national award for the best state. This was not possible without the co-operation of the people of the state. In his video message to the people of the state, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that we have not only saved water, but also saved lives. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is our inspiration. The Chief Minister urged everyone to take a pledge that we will leave no stone unturned in furthering the conservation, promotion and management of water.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh has come first in the country in water conservation, promotion and management. We have not only expanded irrigation facilities, but also improved underground pipeline water management, so that every drop of water can be used properly. Construction of new water structures, renovation of old water structures, Amrit Sarovars, water management in cities, catch the rain, better management of rain water, reviving water structures are very important. Jalabhishek Abhiyan has also been successful in Madhya Pradesh in previous years with public co-operation. Burhanpur district of the state has done the work of coming first in the country by providing drinking water through tap in every house. Niwari district of the state is also moving in this direction, where water will be supplied through taps in cent percent houses. The work of providing tap water to about 60 lakh families in the state has been completed, which is about 50 percent of the total work. This is a remarkable achievement.

Chief Minister Chouhan also congratulated and extended best wishes to the people of the state for Madhya Pradesh receiving the “National Water Award – 2022”.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that “this honour is a matter of pride for every resident of the state. With such efforts, not only will our land be saved, but life on this earth will also prosper.”

It is noteworthy that on Saturday, June 17, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar awarded Madhya Pradesh the first prize in the Best State category for excellent work in the field of water conservation, management and utilization at the fourth National Water Award ceremony of Union Jal Shakti Ministry at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. State Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat received the award.
