Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today performed bhoomi pujan for the construction of Bhagwan Parshuram Lok at the holy site of Janapav in Indore district. He also announced to bring Narmada water to Janapav hill, the birthplace of Bhagwan Parshuram, and to install a ropeway. Chief Minister Chouhan said that Parshuram Lok will be constructed at Janapav at a cost of Rs 10 crore 32 lakh and the pilgrimage site will be equipped with all facilities to facilitate the devotees.
Chouhan paid obeisance at the newly constructed temple of Bhagwan Parshuram at Janapav, the birthplace of Bhagwan Parshuram and the origin of many rivers and also visited the holy water tank.
He said that when I came here last April, I announced to make Parshuram Lok here. Within a period of one month, the implementation of the announcement initiated. Bhoomi-pujan has also been performed today after giving approval for various construction works. He said that the country is governed by the Constitution, but religion is its base. Even in ancient times, the ruling class used to build riverbanks, temples, dharamshalas and public utilities. The state government is also developing various religious places along with various works of development. He said that schemes should also be made for development and provision of facilities for the public besides such holy Loks. The state government is making conscious efforts in this direction.
The Chief Minister said that it is a difficult task to bring the water of Maa Narmada on such a high hill, but the water of Narmada will be brought here by pumping in different phases.
Culture Minister Usha Thakur said that today this holy place has been equipped with many facilities for the devotees. Bhoomi-pujan has been done for Parshuram Lok Nirman. At the same time, various construction works have also been dedicated for the convenience of the devotees at a cost of Rs. two and half crore. He said that Devbhoomi Kerala was created from the ax of Lord Parshuram. He is not only our idol but also the basis of India’s cultural unity. Minister Sushri Thakur said that 90 villages of Mhow area have taken a unique initiative. Akhand Shiv Kirtan will be started by the villagers at Janapav. In a day, groups from three villages will come here and perform sankirtan continuously, which will go on for 24 hours. This will energize the Tapobhoomi of Janapav even more.
