Following the viral video of tourists breaking Covid-19 rules at Mussoorie’s Kempty Falls, officials stated that only 50 people will be permitted to bathe, with a maximum duration limit of 30 minutes. District Magistrate Iva Ashish Shrivastava explained that the decision was made in light of the Covid-19 epidemic.
“There will be a time limit of 30 minutes for each bather,” she said, adding an air horn will be used to signal the exit time. The order came a day after viral videos showed a large number of tourists bathing at the falls without wearing masks or maintaining social distancing norms.
Despite the looming threat of the third wave of Covid-19, videos and pictures of long queues of private vehicles, overcrowded tourist locations have raised alarm.
Recently, a similar video posted on social media showed a little boy walking on a crowded street and scolding everyone who was walking without a mask in Dharamshala. The video was originally shared on Instagram and later on Twitter as well.
In the video, the little kid, who is wearing a mask and has no slippers on, is seen holding a plastic stick with which he pokes everyone who passes him by and asks, “Tumhara mask kaha hai?” (Where is your mask?), However, no one pays much attention to him.
The five-year-old kid named Amit has now been made the local police’s mascot for coronavirus protocols.
