New Delhi, India: Indian government’s post-Balakot Pakistan policy has no takers even on the Indian side.
Certain misconstrued diplomacy in the last night’s decision making leaves a little to be desired.
Pakistan on its National day celebration invited India, who on the account of invitation to separatist groups cancelled their participation. While, the Indian side which has previously participated despite the same invitation to the separatist group has this time decided to do otherwise.
Recent tense times will definitely be able to justify this action. Though, the, last night’s puzzling activities are not justifiable by any means.
Outside Pakistan’s High Commission’s gate, were standing Indian officials who were advising the invitees that “India has officially boycotted the event and you are advised to act on your conscience if you are willing to attend”.
This looks to be in bad taste
While it is unclear whether it was a call or an unsigned letter that is sent formally to all countries. Much more clearance is needed on when was this issued. Before official rejection to the invite or after? What looks clear is that these are uncoordinated loose decisions taken on higher levels.
A parley of warmness on one side and cautious lukewarmness on the other is pitiful for a nation of such stature like India. Diplomacy cannot be shied away from. Tougher clearer decisions are better appreciated than hasty murky ones.
