Mumbai, Maharashtra: Famous for his character in Indian TV series ‘Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi’, actor Karan Oberoi was arrested early Monday morning under rape and blackmailing charges.
TV actor and singer Karan Oberoi is well known for his role in ‘Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi’ and singer of a popular band, ‘A Band Of Boys’.
Karan was arrested by the Mumbai police for allegedly raping and blackmailing a woman astrologer.
As per a report published in Zee News, the actor had allegedly been blackmailing a female astrologist for money. The report also claims that he met the woman on a dating app in the year 2016 after and they soon started dating each other.
“Karan once called me at his flat and promised to marry me,” the woman claimed the woman in the report.
The woman has accused the actor of recording a video of her as he raped her. He later used the video extort money from her, she claimed.
An FIR was filed by the accuser at the Oshiwara Police station in Mumbai after which the Police took immediate action and arrested Karan early Monday morning (May 6).
