MP Government Technical Education Principal Secretary Manu Srivastava said the state’s exports in the financial year 2021-22 have been worth Rs. 58407 crores.
The state has been leading in Kabuli Chana, soyabean, pharma, textile and agricultural products, he said.
Madhya Pradesh exports to more than 200 countries. Maximum exports are made to America, Bangladesh and China, he said.
There are immense possibilities of setting-up new industries in the state and manufacturing products keeping in mind the future requirements, he said.
The policies of the state government have always been helpful for all the investors and industrialists, he said.
He was addressing the investors in the session “Fostering Exports from MP” at Global Investors Summit.
Madhya Pradesh will be among the top-3 export states of India in future. Relatively more exports have taken place from Madhya Pradesh than the previous year. There will be better opportunities for exports in the state’s electronic equipment, engineering, automobile, soya, wheat, agriculture, spices, cotton yarn and other sectors, Additional Secretary, Directorate General of Foreign Trade Santosh Sarangi said this to the investors in the session “Fostering Exports from MP” at Brilliant Convention Centre on the second day of Global Investors Summit. Sarangi said that Madhya Pradesh will focus on final product rather than raw material to increase revenue in exports. Fabric and apparel in place of cotton yarn, soyabean products instead of soyabean, spices, home furnishing products and gems and jewellery will play a critical role in the state’s exports. He urged all the investors to become a partner in the development by investing in the state.
Investors will get the benefit of better law & order and pro-active bureaucracy
In the “Fostering Exports from MP” session, Saurabh Kalani of Flexituff Group said that 3-P-Performance, Policy and Perception will have to be worked upon to further promote the trade in Madhya Pradesh. Law and order is very good in the state. There is no dearth of work force and the bureaucracy here is pro-active. Clearance is being provided through single window system by the state government. Fast decisions are being taken. Shri Kalani said that if the exports get transport subsidy, then the possibilities of boosting the exports will increase further.
Favourable environment for investors in Madhya Pradesh
Chairman of Engineering Export Promotion Council of India Arun Kumar Garodia said that Madhya Pradesh has a very supportive approach in trade promotion. The state is a power surplus state. There is an abundance of raw material here. A lot of progress can be made in the MSME sector with the help of the Central Government. He told the investors that there are immense possibilities of investment in the state, come here and invest.
Need to boost branding
Promoter of DML Group Harish Lakhni said that Madhya Pradesh should do branding of its products. Better work is being conducted in Madhya Pradesh. There are immense possibilities of textile here. Along with foreign direct investment, there is a need to establish and promote companies through partnership.
Better opportunities in Automobile and Pharmaceutical
Director General and CEO of Federation of Indian Export Organisation Ajay Sahay said that Madhya Pradesh is doing excellent work in the field of automobile, pharmaceutical and value addition. More than 250 pharmaceutical companies are operating in the state. There are vast opportunities in the field of medicine and organic products.
