MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan greeted efforts of the children and local residents in planting saplings in 7738 places simultaneously in eight districts of Gwalior and Chambal region on Wednesday.
Under the Ankur Abhiyan, the task of planting 75-75 saplings in each panchayat has been taken up by organizing programme simultaneously at 7,738 places in urban and rural areas of 8 districts of Gwalior and Chambal divisions, Chouhan said.
He said If the atmosphere on the earth is to be maintained for the coming generations, then we must plant trees, that’s why we have started #AnkurAbhiyan in Madhya Pradesh. This is a campaign to save Mother Earth.
He said by planting sapling one is paying off the debt to Mother Earth by doing a favour for future generations.
He said “I congratulate all of you for this exemplary work of nature conservation”.
Chouhan said this initiative of the State government is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “panchamrit” or five nectar elements to deal with the challenge of climate change suggested in the COP26 climate summit at Glasgow.
