While hearing a contempt petition, the Madhya Pradesh High Court has served notices on the Google and Facebook for not deleting the posts on electronic media that tarnish the image of Aacharya Dhirendra Krishna Shastri despite the court order.
The contempt petition is filed by Ranjit Singh Patel a disciple of Aacharya Dhirendra Krishna Shastri Peethadheeshwar of Bageshwar Dham, Chhattarpur.
The high court on December 4, 2023 directed the respondents including the present respondents that the posts already displayed in electronic media, tarnish the image of Aacharya Shri Dhirendra Krishna Shastri shall be deleted forthwith.
But the Google and Facebook is yet to delete such posts on the electronic media, Patel’s counsel Pankaj Dubey said.
Thus the petitioner filed a contempt petition against the Google and Facebook for not deleting the posts on electronic media that tarnish the image of Shastri despite the court order of December 4, 2023.
The notices are served to the respondents – Google LLC managing director Ishan Chatterjee, Google LLC (YouTube) resident grievance officer Suraj Rao, Facebook vice president and managing director meta Sandhya Devanathan and Facebook resident grievance officer meta Amrita Kaushik.
