The Madhya Pradesh High Court has directed the petitioners in a bunch of petitions to give a representation before the Transport Commissioner MP Gwalior regarding the cost of panic buttons/GPS vehicle tracking system.
Justice MS Bhatti directed that if the petitioners prefer a representation before the Transport Commissioner M.P, Gwalior as regards cost of panic buttons/GPS vehicle tracking system, the same shall be dealt by the said Authority, within a period of forty five days from the date of submission of the representation, by passing a well reasoned and speaking order, in accordance with law.
It is strenuously urged by the learned counsel for petitioners that
the petitioners had disputed the allotment of work of fitment of emergency
botton and location tracking device in favour of authorized companies. Now, by virtue of the order dated 06-01-2023 which is contained in the documents, fifteen other manufacturers have also been allotted the same work. Therefore, the main relief which was sought in the petitions, has now rendered otiose, the court order said.
In view of the aforesaid, without expressing any opinion on merits
of the case, it is directed that if the petitioners prefer a representation before the Transport Commissioner M.P., Gwalior as regards cost of panic buttons/GPS vehicle tracking system, the same shall be dealt by the said Authority, within a period of forty five days from the date of submission of the representation, by passing a well reasoned and speaking order, in accordance with law.
The petitioners counsel submits that the petitioners wish to highlight the fact to the effect that in the State of Madhya Pradesh the petitioners are required to charge a sum of Rs.3978 for installing panic buttons, whereas, in the State of Rajasthan Rs.3200 is charged, the court order said.
Thus, the petitioners counsel for petitioners submits that the Transport Commissioner M.P., Gwalior be directed to taken into consideration the aforesaid grievance of the petitioners, the court order said.
The State government counsel submits that if the petitioners submit
a representation, the same shall be dealt with by the Transport Commissioner, M.P., Gwalior in accordance with law, the court order said.
