The Judicial Magistrate First Class court has convicted two persons to three years rigorous imprisonment and imposed fine of Rs.6000 each on found guilty of cheating job-seekers by making fake promise of providing job in the Railways.
The court sentenced Krishna Kumar alias Kissu and Gulab alias Guddu to three years rigorous imprisonment in crime number 25/2012 of police station Adhartal, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh under sections 420/34 of IPC.
The incident is such that a written application was given by the applicants to the Additional Superintendent of Police, which was investigated and the statements of the applicants were recorded.
The applicants stated in their statements that all of them were unemployed and were extremely stressed and mentally disturbed due to not getting jobs.
When Kanchan Singh told him about Gulab and Krishna Kumar getting a job in the Railways, he met all the applicants and the accused with their educational documents and the accused gave them full assurance of getting them a job.
The accused demanded money from the applicants and assured them to get a job within 15 days of giving the money.
On which applicant Lakshmi Narayan gave Rs. 2.75,000, Vinay Patel gave Rs. 2,75,000, Amit Patail gave Rs. 3,50,000, Gokul Patel gave Rs. 5,50,000, Sandeep Patel gave Rs. 5,50,000. Rohit Patel gave Rs. 6,35,000, Vikas Patel gave Rs. 7,00,000, Prashant Shukla gave Rs. 3,85,000 and Chandrashekhar Yadav gave Rs. 4,35,000, total Rs. 41,55,000 and the accused went away with the said amount.
After this, the accused took the applicants to Gorakhpur and Kolkata, where their medical examination was conducted.
Even after some time, when the information about the call letter was not received, the applicants went to the village of Gulab Kushwaha to meet the accused and when they asked the reason for not receiving the call letter, the job-seekers were beaten up by Gulab Kushwaha and his followers.
On the basis of the above developments, a crime was registered and the case was taken up for investigation, which was investigated by cop Ramlochan Mishra.
After investigation the charge sheet was presented in the court.
Under the guidance of Deputy Director (Prosecution) Vijay Kumar Uike and District Public Prosecution Officer Ajay Kumar Jain, Assistant District Public Prosecution Officer Varsha Mehta pleaded the case.
