Two tribal women were violently assaulted with sticks, stomped, and battered by their family members for allegedly conversing on the phone with their male cousins. Peepalwa village in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district has reported the spine-chilling occurrence. The horrible act was recorded on camera, and the footage has since gone viral on social media, prompting the filing of a criminal complaint and the arrest of seven persons.
According to Tanda police station in-charge Vijay Vaskale, the incident occurred on June 22. On June 25, the cops learned about it through a viral video. After that, one of the victims was taken to the police station, where her statement was taken down and a complaint was filed. According to the women, their paternal cousins and other family members stopped them near a rural school before attacking them.
The horrible event was captured on camera only a day after a 19-year-old tribal woman was seized by her hair, pulled, tied to a tree, and severely beaten up by her parents in Bhootkhedi, Alirajpur district, after she ran away from her husband’s house and went to a relative’s house.
