Madhya Pradesh Revenue and Transport Minister Govind Singh Rajput emphasised to promote E-vehicles to reduce risk of environmental pollution.
He chaired a a review meeting held with the officials of the Transport Department to promote plying of e-vehicles, on Wednesday.
In order to reduce the danger of environmental pollution in the state, the Madhya Pradesh government is now considering a plan to run e-vehicles in the state.
Transport Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Jha, Additional Transport Commissioner Arvind Saxena, Deputy Secretary Transport Shweta Pawar, Deputy Transport Commissioner (complaints) Dilip Singh Tomar and members of the team having proficiency in e-vehicle technology were present in the meeting.
During the discussion in the meeting, members of the team having know-how of e-vehicle technology made a presentation on the utility of e-vehicle and the benefits of reducing pollution in the environment due to the use of e-vehicle.
During the presentation, the team having proficiency in e-vehicle technology gave a detailed presentation on the outline of various types of vehicle operation in Madhya Pradesh.
It was told in this presentation that auto rickshaw, which is being used mostly as one of the means of transport in day to day life, needs special attention and it is necessary to convert it into e-vehicle.
During the presentation, the team also suggested that the auto rickshaws currently operating across the state should be converted into e-rickshaws by replacing the said engine in diesel and petrol powered auto rickshaws and installing a new e-engine. can go.
Thus auto rickshaws powered by diesel and petrol will be converted into e-autos at half the cost.
In order to avoid financial burden on the auto rickshaw drivers due to engine change, the team presented various financial models during the presentation.
After the presentation, the Revenue and Transport Minister Rajput said that our government is making continuous efforts for the safety of the general public and to reduce the danger of increasing environmental pollution in Madhya Pradesh.
Hence it will be beneficial to convert the currently running auto rickshaws into e-rickshaws.
Rajput instructed the officers to prepare a detailed action plan so that this change does not put any extra financial burden on the owners of the auto rikshaws.
Promote the e-vehicle in transport in various departments
During the meeting, Rajput also said that there is such provision in the welfare schemes running in various departments to give grant to the beneficiaries of different caste categories to purchase vehicles etc. or grant as per eligibility in the scheme.
By which the departments should do this, after studying the various schemes, include such a provision as far as possible in the policy being prepared, he said.
In the meeting, Rajput also told that new vehicles will be purchased by the Food Department for the scheme of distribution of ration in through the vehicles in under Ration Aapke Dwar Yojana, in line with the Transport Department if it is with the Food Department or other related, if it coordinates with the departments, then it is possible that the vehicles which are to be purchased, those e-vehicles should be purchased, he added.
During the discussion in the meeting, it was also agreed on the intention that maximum use of e-vehicles should be ensured in the means of inter-district public transport.
For this, the Minister Rajput directed the officers that the upcoming presentation should be discussed in detail in this subject.
Plan for Automated Testing Center soon:
During the meeting, Transport Minister Rajput clearly instructed the officers that special attention should be paid to the fitness of three wheelers and four wheelers coming for fitness tests in the state. For this, an action plan should be prepared and submitted at the earliest on the establishment and operation of Automated Testing Centers.
