Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the possibility of bringing rhinos and other rare and endangered wildlife species into the forest areas of the state should be explored.
Effective measures will be taken to protect human life from the wildlife. An action plan would be made for wildlife rescue centers at every division.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav was addressing 26th meeting of Madhya Pradesh State Wildlife Board at Mantralaya here today.
Forest Minister Nagar Singh Chauhan, Minister of State for Forest Dilip Ahirwar, Chief Secretary Veera Rana and Additional Chief Secretary Forest J.N. Kansotiya attended the meeting.
Teams from South Africa and Kenya visit Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary for Cheetah Project
It was informed in the meeting that, teams from South Africa and Kenya have visited Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary and Kuno National Park for the upcoming phases of the Cheetah Project.
All preparations have been made for Cheetah restoration in Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary.
To increase the number of chitals in the area, they have been rehabilitated from Kanha and other places.
Successful relocation of 50 bisons have been done from Kanha and Satpura Tiger Reserve to Sanjay Tiger Reserve.
Approval was given to use 0.090 hectare forest land to Bharat Sanchar Nigam, Obaidullaganj for laying optical fiber cable in the right-of-way along the road from Bamnai GP to Delawadi under Ratapani Sanctuary.
For the issues related to the main drinking water pipeline in the forest land under Madhav National Park, a discussion was held related to wildlife permission regarding giving forest land to Central Railway for the construction of the third railway line between Jujharpur to Dhohramohar in Betul and Narmadapuram districts.
