Two cops of Chargawan police station of Jabalpur district were injured after attacked by the accused with iron rod during arrest in village Padarbhata in Katni district on Tuesday night.
Chargawan police station incharge Vinod Pathak sustained serious right eye and left shoulder while Constable Ranjeet Patel sustained minor hand injury in the attack.
Gulshan Patel accused is arrested, the police said.
The accused robbed a tractor from a showroom located in Bijuri village of Jabalpur district on August 22 night, thereafter the owner of the showroom lodged complaint of theft with the Chargawan police station.
The police during investigation and spot inspection found a mobile phone and searched the details of the owner and found it belongs to the accused.
Thereafter a team of cops led Pathak went in search of the accused on basis of the mobile phone details and found the brand new tractor parked road side in the village and searched for the accused.
When the team was about to arrest the accused, the accused alongwith one another attacked on the team. The accused is booked under sections 353, 294, 332, 186 and 34 of IPC in a case registered at Sleemanabad Police Station in Katni district against the accused.
