Out of 213 species of mangoes found in Madhya Pradesh, Sundarja mango is the most prominent of them. Sundarja mango is branded as product of Rewa district under one district-one product program of the state government. This is mainly due to Rewa district whose saplings are now found place in nurseries across the country.
Sundaraja mangoes in exported to Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Calcutta, Pakistan, England and USA and Arab nations where there is lot of demand for this mango variety due to its fragrance. As its name suggests, it looks beautiful in the same way. This mango is also known for its special sweetness. Because of this everyone likes it. Sundarja is famous in the whole country as well as in the world for her common qualities. Its small tree also yields 100 to 125 kg and the average weight of a mango is 200 to 250 grams.
Sundarja Mango is a product of the Rewa royal family. In ancient times, Sundarja mango has been included in the special choice of the Maharajas here. Sundarja mango plants are developed at the Kuthilia Research Center in Rewa and the nursery at Govindgarh.
