Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh has said that the group insurance scheme has been revised for the sanitation workers working in regular pay scale in urban bodies.
It is noteworthy that the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had announced to increase the insurance amount on the death of sanitation workers.
Now, on the death of a sweeper in an accident, their family will get an insurance amount of Rs 5 lakh.
Earlier this amount was Rs 2 lakh. One lakh rupees will be given on normal death as before. It is noteworthy that the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had announced to increase the insurance amount on the death of sanitation workers.
The contribution of saintation worker to the insurance scheme will remain the same as before at Rs 20 per month.
The remaining amount will be given by the government.
The approval of claim cases in the Group Insurance Scheme for saintation worker will be given by the Directorate of Urban Administration and Development. Orders have been issued in this regard.
