Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh has informed that an amount of Rs 10 crore 36 lakh has been approved for beautification and renovation projects of lakes and ponds in 7 civic bodies. These bodies include Patan, Narsinghpur, Diken, Barodiyakala, Malanpur, Damoh and Seoni.
The concerned bodies have been directed to take action for inviting tenders after obtaining competent technical and administrative approval for the estimate of approved works.
It is noteworthy that in the year 2012, the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had declared the Urban Administration and Development Department as the nodal agency to make the lakes and ponds coming in the urban areas pollution free.
Conservation and development of lakes and ponds, beautification and restoration works like ghat construction, pitching, installation of paver blocks, deepening etc. will be done.
