Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan ji is making continuous efforts for drug de-addiction campaign in the state, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra said on Monday.

Mishra said as per the directions of the Chief Minister, strict action is being taken by the police against those selling illegal drugs under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act in entire state.

He said in last 24 hours, 198 cases were registered and 200 persons are made accused and 334.24 durgs seized.

While 2589 cases were registered of illegal liquor  possession, 2586 persons made accused and 16603.5 litre liquor seized, he said.

During campaign 335 public place liquor consumption cases were registered in which 361 accused were made, similarly 199 cases of driving vehicle in inebriated state were registered and 199 accused were made, in tobacco and cigarette related 163 cases  were registered in which 163 accused were made, he informed.

Checking of 1676 persons wad carried for illegal narcotics drugs use, similarly checking was done in 2486 locations for illegal carrying trade and serving liquor was done as part of the awareness campaign, Mishra said.

Over this campaign of state government, MP PCC spokesperson KK Mishra expressed surprise on all of sudden crackdown by the Madhya Pradesh government on illegal drug / liqour supply.

He cited a newspaper report stating in a big crackdown raids in past 24 hours in the State.
