The Madhya Pradesh Government Cottage and Village Industries Department in coordination with the GTB s Department. In both these showrooms, the innovative design collection products will be displayed and sold by the best designers of the state.
The designer collection prepared by fashion designers Farhat Malik, Ayushi Aggarwal, Sadhna Vyas and Farha Sayyed was launched at Complex-based Mrignayani Emporium and Prakrit Show-room Sanjivani Ayurveda Parishar Link Road No. 1, Bhopal.
The program was inaugurated by Anita Das, IAS (Retd.), Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Cottage and Village Industries Department, Manu Srivastava, Commissioner cum Managing Director, Sant Ravidas M.P. Handicrafts and Handloom Development Corporation Sufiya Farooqi Wali and Managing Director M.P. Done by Silk Federation Commissioner Silk Shri Madan Vibhishan Nagargoje.
Additional Chief Secretary Manu Srivastava said that our main objective is to promote handloom and connect the youth through designers, so that the art done on handloom by weavers craftsmen is promoted and artists get employment. For this, craft fairs and exhibitions are being organized by the Madhya Pradesh government in and outside the state.
The specialty
From clay to silk, various clothes have been prepared from 100 percent pure silk fabric prepared in the state. Chanderi tissue fabric with cut grain, patch work in lag kurtas, garara-sharara, anarkali, lehenga chunri, readymade suit, kurta ready ware to semi stitch designer apparel has been manufactured by the designers.
Designer Sadhna Vyas has kept excellent samples of Chandri, Maheshwari fabric printing embroidery and Zari Zardozi, Nadana and Indigo and Bagh prints, all the products of Prakrit have been developed on pure silk (Malvari, Tussar Eri).
