Voter Mahotsav was celebrated at Ravindra Bhawan with the aim of encouraging voters to vote in the election process and to connect the youth with the election process. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, Election Commissioner Anup Chandra Pandey, Election Commissioner Arun Goyal, Chief Electoral Officer Madhya Pradesh Anupam Rajan, Senior Deputy Election Commissioner Dharmendra Sharma, Senior Deputy Election Commissioner Nitesh Vyas, Deputy Election Commissioner Manoj Kumar Sahu, Deputy Election Commissioner Ajay Bhadu, Director General Dr. Neeta Verma and Director Sweep Santosh Ajmera released literature and songs inspiring voting in the festival.
The Commission unveiled the special cover envelope issued by India Post. The painting in this has been done by Gond painter Padmashree Smt. Durga Bai Vyam. For this, Padmashree Smt. Durga Bai Vyam was honored with shawl and quince. Along with this, the Knowledge, Attitude and Practices (KAP) book was also released by the commission. The KAP contains election-related guides and latest information. Madhya Pradesh Sweep Calendar (State/Districts) was released by the Commission in the festival. Awareness song “Hai Voting Adhikar Hamara..Jan Jan Ko Samjana Hai” was released to make voters aware about voting.
To play an important role in connecting the voters with the process of democracy, the Commission appointed state icon of the state Rajeev Verma, transgender state icon Sanjana Singh and B.L.O. Brij Gopal Chaturvedi was honored with shawl and quince.
Respect for elderly and differently-abled voters
Senior citizens above 80 years of age and disabled voters who continuously participated in voting were honoured. Among the senior voters, Bhukan Bai Garhpal, Prahlad Singh, Sheela Bai and Mangilal were honored. Among the disabled voters, Tarun was honored with a shawl and coconut.
Distribution of EPIC cards to new young voters
To motivate new young voters, the Commission provided EPIC card to the youth who have completed 18 years of age. In this, EPIC cards were given to Sumit Kumar Koli, Abhay Yadav, Anushka Srivastava, Kashif, Priyanshi Malakar and Joel Varghese.
voter awareness based cultural presentation
Voter awareness based cultural presentation was given by tribal artists. Baiga tribal group led by Sonsai Baiga of Mandla, Kripal Parpeti group of Chhindwara and Swati Ukhle and troupe of Ujjain inspired the voting by the attractive presentation of Malwa Matki folk dance.
On this occasion, a large number of people including officials of the Election Commission of India and the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, concerned officials of the District Administration and District Panchayat were present.
review of election preparedness
Before this, Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar, Election Commissioner Anupchandra Pandey and Election Commissioner Arun Goyal held a meeting with officials of recognized national political parties at Kushabhau Thackeray International Auditorium.
The Commission reviewed the preparations for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections with the nodal officers of the Enforcement Agency and gave necessary guidelines.
Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan gave a presentation about the preparations being made at the state level for the assembly elections.
