The RTI activist is allegedly threatened by the Sarpanch and secretary of village Baghrai, in Shahpura tehsil of district Jabalpur for seeking information under the RTI provisions of expenditure and allocation of funds to the panchayat.
The RTI activist deposited Rs.40000 in the Village Panchayat after the surpanch and secretary demanded the charges to get the desired information under the RTI norms.
Several months have passed but the village panchayat is not giving the information to the RTI activist, AAP RTI wing state president Manish Sharma said.
Aam Aadmi Party assistant secretary Sevendra Burman had sought information about the development work being done in village Baghrai and the allocation and expenditure of rupees by applying RTI in the Gram Panchayat in January. While issuing the letter, instructions were given to deposit ₹ 40,000 to him.
Burman deposited ₹ 40,000 on February 5, 2023, and received the cash receipt from the panchayat.
Sharma said now when the activists is demanding to give the desired information he intimidated through various means, over this allegations the AAP submitted a memorandum to the Superintendent of Police demanded registration of cheating and criminal breach of trust case against the secretary and sarpanch of the village panchayat.
