Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan on Friday inspected the counting venues set-up in Sehore, Dewas and Indore districts.
He took stock of the preparations being made in the districts for the counting of votes to be held on December 3 and gave necessary guidelines to the Collector and District Election Officers.
Counting of votes for all four assemblies to take place in the Government Women’s Polytechnic College, Sehore
Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan reached Government Women’s Polytechnic College of Sehore district on Friday.
He took stock of the preparations being made for the counting of votes for four assembly constituencies of Sehore district on 3rd December under Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections 2023.
Chief Electoral Officer Rajan was informed in detail by Sehore Collector and District Election Officer Praveen Singh about the arrangements and preparations being made for the counting of votes.
Rajan visited the counting rooms set-up assembly wise and took stock of the preparations. He also saw the preparations being made for counting of postal ballots and the security arrangements of the strong room.
Rajan sought information about the counting table, number of staff engaged in counting, security arrangements, number of postal ballots etc. Simultaneously discussions were held with the representatives of the election candidates who were staying in the counting venue premises and saw the monitoring arrangements of the strong room from the room itself through CCTV.
Smooth availability of all arrangements should be ensured at the counting venue
The counting of votes for Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections-2023 will begin on December 3 at 8 am with the counting of postal ballots. Counting of votes recorded in EVMs will start from 8.30 am.
Rajan gave instructions to ensure continuous supply of electricity on the day of counting and also ensure that the counting of votes is not affected for any reason.
Rajan said that smooth availability of all the arrangements should be ensured at the counting venue.
After inspection of the counting venue, he visited the strong room of the Collectorate’s treasury and also sought information about the security arrangements for postal ballot.
He also inspected the warehouse built for EVMs and sought information about the arrangements made for storing EVMs after the elections.
Counting of votes for all the assemblies of the district will take place at Kendriya Vidyalaya Bank Note Press Dewas
After inspecting Sehore district, the Chief Electoral Officer Shri Rajan, took stock of the preparations made for the counting of votes for the five assembly constituencies of the district at the counting venue Kendriya Vidyalaya Bank Note Press Dewas in Dewas district.
Chief Electoral Officer Rajan visited the counting rooms made assembly wise and took stock of the preparations. Giving detailed information about the preparations being made for counting of votes at Kendriya Vidyalaya Bank Note Press Dewas.
Collector and District Election Officer Rishav Gupta said that the counting of votes for Dewas and Hatpipalya assembly constituencies will be done in separate halls located on the ground floor of Kendriya Vidyalaya.
Similarly, the counting of votes of Sonkachh, Khategaon and Bagli assembly constituencies will be done in the rooms located on the first floor. Along with this, Rajan also saw the preparations being made for counting of postal ballots and the security arrangements of the strong room.
He sought information about vote counting table, number of officers/employees engaged in vote counting work and the security arrangements.
Rajan also inspected the control room set-up at Kendriya Vidyalaya Bank Note Press Dewas.
He spoke to the representatives of the election candidates staying in the counting venue premises and saw the monitoring arrangements of the strong room from the room itself through CCTV.
Counting of votes will take place at Nehru Stadium in Indore
Chief Electoral Officer Rajan reached the counting venue at Nehru Stadium in Indore and sought information about the preparations and security arrangements.
Collector and District Election Officer Indore Dr. Ilaiyaraaja T informed Chief Electoral Officer Rajan about the preparations and security arrangements being made for the counting of votes.
Rajan inspected the preparations being made for the counting of votes for 9 assembly constituencies of Indore.
He took stock of the preparations by visiting the counting rooms set-up assembly constituency wise.
He also saw the arrangements being made for counting of postal ballots.
He took information about the counting tables, number of staff engaged in counting, security arrangements, number of postal ballots etc. and also inspected the security arrangements of the strong room.
Rajan saw the arrangements made for monitoring the strong room at the counting venue through CCTV. He also discussed with the representatives of the candidates present about monitoring of the strong room in the counting venue premises.
Divisional Commissioner Indore Malsingh and other officers were present during the inspection.
