The MP Police took prompt action and returned Rs 1 lakh 40 thousand to the woman from whose bank account the money had been fraudulently withdrawn online.
Police station in-charge Lordganj (Jabalpur) Harikishan Atnere said that Lata Gupta resident of Gadha Phatak Lordganj made a written complaint on 12.2.2024 that she has an account in the Central Bank.
On 11.2.2024, between 2 to 3 pm, he received some messages on his mobile.
On looking at the messages, it became clear that Rs 80000, 19000, 41000, totaling Rs 1 lakh 40 thousand, had been withdrawn from his account online by some unknown person.
The cyber cell was immediately informed about the complaint and the complainant was sent to the cyber cell.
Taking immediate action on the above complaint by the Cyber Cell, the amount of Rs 1 lakh 40 thousand which was fraudulently withdrawn from the account of Lata Gupta was returned to the account of Lata Gupta on 26 February 2024.
Mrs. Lata Gupta came to the police station and went to the office of Superintendent of Police and expressed her gratitude praising the prompt action taken by Jabalpur Police and Cyber Cell Jabalpur.
