A police constable attacked a female nurse posted in the district hospital with a knife attempted to cut her throat, later found hanging in the nurse’s house, the police said.
The incident occurred in Narsinghpur district in eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh.
The Kotwali police has registered a case and started investigation.
The injured female nurse has been admitted to the ICU of the district hospital. Where his condition is said to be out of danger.
According to the police, the deceased constable was a resident of Balaghat district.
The constable was posted in the police lines in the district Narsinghpur, earlier, he was posted in Themi police station.
The nurse was resident of Junnardeo in Chhindwara district.
On Tuesday night, around 8-9 pm, police constable Anil reached the nurse’s house in Sahu’s garden locality where the duo had altercation over trivial issue, the accused policeman stabbed the nurse on the neck and stomach with the knife.
Kotwali police station in-charge Gaurav Chate said that few months back in April last, the 30-year-old female nurse had filed a rape case against constable Anil.
According to TI, prima facie it seems that there was a dispute between the two due to this reason for his taking extreme step.
At present the police is investigating the matter.
The police took necessary action and handed over the body of the constable to his family after post-mortem.
