The Madhya Pradesh Police have arrested two persons for cheating farmers of over Rs. 40 lakh in Khandwa district.
The accused identified Subrat Bishwas and Chotu Biswas were arrested, according to the police.
The farmers of Adakheda and Sawligarh villages sold wheat, gram and cotton to Subrat who gave them higher price for the produce. The farmers sold the foodgrains from November 2022 till March 2023 but did not paid the money for the foodgrains taken, the police said.
The accused persons were booked under section 420 of IPC on complaint of the farmers.
