A 28-year-old man was arrested from Patna, Bihar by the MP Police for cheating a woman with Rs. 1.95 lakh in the name of KYC updated was arrested from Patna.

The team of police from Jabalpur went to Patna, the team arrested Azhar Hussain, age 28, resident of Patna, Bihar, with the help of local police.

After being duly arrested in the case, presented before the Court, and sent to Central Jail, Jabalpur, the police said.

A woman named Vandana Kesharwani lodged a complaint with the Sanjivini Nagar Police Station of Jabalpur on 13-5-23 that a message came on her mobile phone and a link asking for open and update KYC, she opened the link and saw the bank app opened it in which Aadhaar card number and PAN number was entered and sent, the police said.

When the OTP came, she entered the OTP and an amount of Rs 1 lakh 95 thousand was deducted from her account, whose message came on her mobile, in which the money was transferred to the account in another bank, the police said.

During the deliberation, the said amount was found to be transferred to the account of Patna Bihar resident Azhar Hussain.

The police said Azhar Hussain has confessed of commited the crime with one Salim Khan, Salim is at large, the police said.
