Under the National Health Mission, a one-day orientation workshop on the elimination of rabies was held at the Academy of Administration on Friday, 4th August, with the aim of making India rabies free by the year 2030, Management of National Health Mission in the workshop organized by Rabies Control Program Unit, National Health Mission Director Smt. Priyanka Das shared her views regarding preparation of state action plan for eradication of rabies from Madhya Pradesh as per the guidelines of National Rabies Control Program. He laid special emphasis on ensuring the availability of anti-rabies vaccine till the primary health center.
Epidemiologists of all the districts and officials of other related departments participated in the program and discussed on rabies-free Madhya Pradesh and in this sequence, during the workshop, officials of National Center for Disease Control, Bhopal Municipal Corporation, State Animal Husbandry Department, Gandhi Medical College and other departments Eradication of rabies disease was said to be possible with inter-departmental coordination.
In this series, a presentation was given by various subject experts about various activities being done to eradicate rabies, mainly Rabies Free City Initiative, Model Rabies Clinic, National Action Plan for Rabies Free India, Rabies Awareness.
In the last phase of the workshop, all the participants were invited for discussion, where the participants told about the incidence of rabies in their districts and the appropriate steps to prevent it.
