Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said at the state-level Ladli Behna Sammelan in Indore that through Sapta Kranti, the work of providing means and opportunities of livelihood is being done rapidly to increase the self-esteem of women and daughters in the state, to protect their lives, to empower them and provide assistance in welfare, education and health. Initiatives are being taken to bring positive changes in the lives of women and daughters. It is a social revolution.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the day of date 10th has now become historic in the history of the state. This day has become a day of honour, pride, self-respect, self-reliance and social revolution of women. The amount being received under Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Yojana will be gradually increased to Rs.3000 per month. Along with this, by providing opportunities to women in the livelihood mission, their income will be increased to Rs 10,000 every month.

Along with this, by providing opportunities to women in the Livelihood Mission, Chief Minister Chouhan said that now the minimum age of marriageable women has been reduced to 21 year instead of 23 year under the Ladli Bahna Yojana. Along with this, women from families with tractors have also been included in the scheme. The process of submitting applications from these eligible women will be started from July 25.

In the programme, Chief Minister Chouhan transferred the amount of the second installment of Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Yojana to the accounts of more than 1.25 crore Bahnas of the state with a single click. He virtually addressed the Ladli Bahnas present in all the districts of the state and also administered oath to the members of the Ladli Bahna Sena formed in the wards and gram panchayats of the state.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the implementation of Ladli Laxmi Yojana, giving 50 percent reservation to women in the elections of local bodies, 30 and 50 percent reservation for women in the recruitment of police and teachers respectively, Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah/ Nikah Yojana, free marriage of needy daughters and giving them gifts, paying only one percent registry fee if the property is registered in the name of women, work of providing Rs one thousand per month under Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Yojana and providing loans to self-help groups for various activities in the Livelihood Mission at the rate of 2 percent from banks is being done effectively. There is a target to increase the monthly income of women to Rs 10,000 in the next 5 years.

Informing about the duties and responsibilities of the members of the Ladli Bahna Sena, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that this Sena will work with the help of departmental officers to make concerted efforts to provide benefits of schemes and programmes of the government to the needy women. They will have a meeting every month. This Sena will become the conductor of a new social revolution, will work to empower women economically and will also actively participate in social reform campaigns.

While welcoming the Ladli Behnas, Chief Minister Chouhan said that as long as I am there, I will continue to serve the sisters throughout my life. The effort is that no injustice should be done to any women, they should become empowered and strong, they should not face any helplessness, they should lead a happy life. They don’t have to look to anyone else for small needs and they become financially strong. If they have money, then their respect and self-respect will increase in the family and society. Ladli Bahna Yojana is a scheme to boost the self-esteem of women. In Ladli Bahna Yojana, the amount of one thousand rupees will be gradually increased to Rs 1250, Rs 1500, Rs 1750, Rs 2000, Rs 2250, Rs 2500, Rs 2750 and then Rs 3000 per month.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that with the successful implementation of Ladli Laxmi Yojana, daughters have become a boon instead of a burden in the state. More than 45 lakh daughters are getting benefitted in the scheme. They will not need to pay the fees for engineering and medical studies, the fees will be paid by Mama. Along with daughters, now the work of giving scooty, laptop, bicycle etc. to the talented students of the state is being done at a fast pace. Laptops will be distributed to meritorious students on coming 26th July.

Amazing atmosphere of enthusiasm

There was a wonderful atmosphere of enthusiasm in the sammelan. Storytelling based on the experiences of Ladli Bahnas, Goddess worship by Ragini Makkhar’s group, dance drama based on schemes and programmes of government, Shastra-Astra art performance based on empowerment of women and other cultural programmes and bhajans of Gannu Maharaj and Dwarka Mantri were presented. Ladli Bahnas made the atmosphere festive with cheers on the melodious renditions of bhajans.

Ladli Bahnas welcomed

Chief Minister Chouhan welcomed and greeted the Ladli Bahnas by showering flowers in the sammelan. In response to their welcome and respect, the Ladli Bahnas also expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister. In the beginning, the Chief Minister honoured Ladli Laxmi daughters and Ladli Bahnas by washing their feet. Anganwadi workers honoured Chief Minister Chouhan on receiving many gifts. The Chief Minister distributed benefits under various schemes to the women.

Oath was administered to the members of Ladli Behna Sena

Chief Minister Chouhan virtually administered oath to the members of the Ladli Bahna Senas formed in the entire state that “they will work to give information about the schemes being run by the government for the welfare of the sisters of their area and to raise awareness. Will cooperate in every possible way to get maximum benefits of various schemes of the government, will worry about dear sisters like their family members and will help them to stand on their feet. Will actively participate in social reform campaigns like de-addiction, planting trees, saving electricity, cleanliness, save daughter, educate daughter and save water. Ladli Bahnas presented 101 feet long Rakhi to their brother Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the sammelan.
