Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Mauniya Mahotsav depicts the culture of Bundelkhand.
This festival gives us the message to live life with joy and gaiety. Mauniya Mahotsav will be celebrated with great pomp by including it in the government cultural calendar.
Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the Mauniya dance ceremony at Janki Niwas temple complex in Tehsil Bijawar of Chhatarpur district.
Chief Minister Chouhan announced to sanction an amount of 18 crores for development works in Bijawar and to make Satai a tehsil.
The CM also announced about restarting civil hospital in Bijawar, establishment of ITI, construction of bus stand along with stadium and upgradation of hospital at Satai.
The Chief Minister said that B.Com and B.Sc classes would start in the college from this year itself. The Central Government will be requested to start Eklavya Vidyalaya in Bijawar.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that there are many pilgrimage sites in Bundelkhand region.
The stalled development works will be completed soon after declaring Jatashankar Dham, which is called Kedarnath of Madhya Pradesh, as a tourist destination.
Referring to the crisis faced by the bovines in the state, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the government is making efforts to build more and more Gaushalas.
The CM appealed to the society to cooperate in cow protection. He directed to resolve all the applications received in the camps under the Mukhya Mantri Jan Seva campaign.
He said that no poor will remain without ration on the soil of the state. After surveying the crops damaged due to excessive rain, relief amount and crop insurance benefit will be provided.
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for the Ken-Betwa link project, Chief Minister Chouhan said that all the farmers whose land would come under land acquisition would be given proper compensation.
Work is going on continuously on the scheme of providing water from the tap by laying pipe lines in every village.
Chief Minister Chouhan apprised that now studies in medical, engineering and law colleges will be conducted in Hindi also.
He asked the citizens to raise both their hands and take resolve to protect them. Let daughters come because our tomorrow depends on daughters, those who abuse women will be hanged.
He told them to resolve to save electricity and water and make your village drug free by staying away from drugs.
MLA Rajesh Shukla informed about local demands regarding civil hospital, bus stand, stadium, ITI, Jatashankar Dham, and starting B.Com and B.Sc classes in the college and community health center at Satai.
The Chief Minister was presented with a memento, a shawl -shriphal and a peacock crown.
Chief Minister Chouhan danced in harmony with the Mauniya dancers’ troupe.
More than 200 dancers participated in the ceremony. Former Minister of State Lalita Yadav proposed the vote of thanks.

On his arrival at the Bijawar helipad, Chief Minister Chouhan was welcomed by public representatives with bouquets.
Meeting with MLA’s family
After attending the Bijawar Mauniya Mahotsav, Chief Minister Chouhan reached the residence of Bijawar MLA Rajesh Shukla in Ratanganj and met his family members.
A warm welcome was given by the family members.
Badamalhara MLA and Chairman of Civil Supplies Corporation Pradyumna Singh Lodhi, former Minister Manvendra Singh, MLA Chandla Rajesh Prajapati, District Panchayat President Vidya Agnihotri, Nagar Panchayat President Laxmi Bir Singh Yadav and other public representatives and officials were present.
