A 29-year-old resident of Nashik, Maharashtra was arrested from Rajasthan accused of killing a 21-year-old lover in a resort in Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh), the police said on Saturday.

Hemant Bhadane (29) resident of Radhakanna Nagar in Nashik, Maharashtra was arrested from Rajasthan is accused of killing Shilpa Jharia (21) in a resort in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, MP Police’s Jabalpur Zone, Additional Director General of Police Umesh Joga told the reporters.

The accused is arrested under sections 302 and 201 of IPC in a case registered in the Tilwara Police Station of Jabalpur district.

The police seized from accused the mobile phone, ATM card of deceased, gold jewellery, cash Rs 1 .52 lakh was withdrawn from ATM, of the account of deceased.

The woman was found dead in the resort on November 8, 2022, he said.

The man and woman stayed in the resort with fake identity, he said.

The police identified the accused using National Automated Fingerprint Identification System (NAFIS) by taking his fingerprints from the crime spot in resort and through multiple cash withdrawal from the ATM of deceased Shilpa after the incident, he said.
