The Lokayukta has registered a case against Retired IAS oficer Ramesh Thete and his wife Manda Thete of disproportionate assets.
Thete was posted between 2001-2002 as commissioner in the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation and thereafter on post of director employment and training Jabalpur.
During this tenure, Thete borrowed loan of Rs. 68 lakh from various banks in name of his wife Manda Thete.
Thete repaid the loan in 2012-13 within short period of time, thereupon a primary inquiry was registered in year 2013 .
On investigation it was found that the couple had carried large number of transaction of hefty amount is done in the bank accounts in 2012-13, the same was above to their known source of income.
on basis of investigation a case was registered against Thete and his wife under sections 13(1) B and 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The Lokayukta registered the case on Feb 4, 2023 against the couple.
