Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced to give award to the residents associations and traders in Bhopal for their exemplary contribution in cleanliness.
The first prize for best market development works on cleanliness will be of Rs 50 lakh, second prize Rs 40 lakh, third prize Rs 30 lakh, fourth prize 20 lakh and fifth prize Rs 10 lakh.
Similarly, for the residents associations the first prize of Rs. 5 lakhs, second prize of Rs. 3 lakhs. Two residents associations or colony or locality of each municipal zone will be rewarded in this category.
The voluntary organizations will also be awarded for their contribution in cleanliness of the city.
Chouhan said Deendayal Mobile Kitchen has also been started, in which food will be available for Rs.10 to the needy.
The chief minister called for putting to end the problem of street begging in Bhopal, adding the state government will coordinate with various social organizations for arranging food, shelter and clothes for children begging.
Chouhan made the announcement in a function held to inaugurate the bridge and laid a foundation for a bio-cng plant based on cattle dung in Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Nagar at Bhopal. The estimated cost of the plant is around Rs.80 crores. The CNG generated in the plant will be used to fuel 250 city buses.
He announced to celebrate Pride Day of Bhopal on June 1.
On this day in the year 1949, the princely state of Bhopal was merged with the Indian Union. Hence, this day cannot be forgotten. Many people in Bhopal, Raisen and Sehore districts sacrificed their lives by joining the merger movement.
Boras Ghat situated on the banks of Narmada in Raisen district was also the martyrdom site of the merger movement. The Pride day of Bhopal will be celebrated with much aplomb in memory of the martyrs, the chief minister said.
