With the successful implementation of the schemes, electricity became available to those living below the poverty line – Chief Guest of the Independence Day celebrations, Anay Dwivedi said that Indira Griha Jyoti Yojana, Atal Kisan Jyoti Yojana, Free of cost electricity supply scheme, Self Transformer Scheme, RDSS Scheme, Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana, Uday Yojana, Atma Nirbhar Madhya Pradesh have been implemented.
More than 85 percent domestic electricity consumers and about 26 lakh agricultural pump consumers are getting benefit from these schemes, he said.
With the successful implementation of these schemes, electricity has become available in small villages and to the beneficiaries living below the poverty line, he said.
Provision of subsidy of Rs 5842.73 crore for the domestic electricity consumers was made for financial year 2023-24, he said.
The highest demand of 17100 MW electricity was successfully supplied, he said.
Dwivedi said MP Power Management Company, with the help of other state owned power companies, using efficient management and modern technology has generated surplus electricity worth about Rs 2073 crore in the year 2022-23 and sold through the exchange.
This is the highest sales ever, he said.
Arrangements is made to bank about 1150 million units of electricity to other states during the rainy season this year to meet the demand for agricultural in the upcoming Rabi season, he said.
We will get this electricity with during the Rabi season, due to which adequate power supply will be ensured to the agricultural consumers of the state as well as to other categories of consumers, he said.
Thus, we can proudly say that Madhya Pradesh is one of the few states in the country where all categories of electricity consumers are getting adequate electricity as per their requirement, he said.
A power purchase agreement has been signed recently by the Power Management Company to purchase 218.98 MW power from the country’s first indigenously built 700 MW Nuclear Power Reactor Kakrapar, he said.
This electricity, which is available at a cheaper rate, will prove useful in providing high quality electricity to the consumers of the state, he said.
Dwivedi said the thermal power plants of state owned Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company have so far produced the highest power generation of 27328 million units in the year 2022-23.
Total specific oil consumption of thermal power stations was 0.65 ml per unit and plant auxiliary consumption of thermal power stations was 7.2 percent. Both these consumptions are the lowest ever, he said.
The Power Station No. 4 of Satpura Thermal Power Station and Sanjay Gandhi Thermal Power Station Birsingpur have achieved the best ever performance in terms of total power generation, plant load factor and plant availability factor, he said.
State Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has laid the foundation stone of new 660 MW unit at Amarkantak Thermal Power Station Chachai on August 9. The work of this unit, to be set up through a joint venture between Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company and SECL, is expected to start by the end of the current financial year, he said.
A target has been set to complete this unit by the year 2028.

The Discoms are making such arrangements for uninterrupted power supply to the consumers, he said.
The number 1912 of the call center is being continuously strengthened to solve the problems of the consumers, he said.
The concept of paperless bill has been implemented in the state. Electricity consumers were started getting electricity bills through MMS and WhatsApp, he said.
The Poorva Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company is the first in the country to set up capacitor banks under RDSS, he said.
Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country whose Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been approved by the Central Government. It is worth to mention that former Union Power Secretary Alok Kumar had praised the Poorva Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company for this, he said.
For the first time in the country, the 33/11 KV grid of RDSS has been energized in Imlikheda village of Indore district of Paschim Kshetra Power Distribution Company, he said.
Mhow and Khargone of Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company are declared as two cities of the state with complete smart meters.
